Redeem a Spark Gift Card

Find out how to use a Spark Gift Card to buy something in a Spark Store, on the Spark website or in the Spark app.  Learn what will happen if you need to return something you purchased using a Spark Gift Card and how to check the balance remaining on your Gift Card.

Redeem a Spark Gift Card

Use your Spark Gift Card to buy something (except modems). If you're buying something that costs more than the amount you have on your gift card, you can pay the rest using another form of payment.

 

If you have a physical Gift Card:

  1. Let the Spark advisor in the store know you want to pay with a Gift Card.
  2. Swipe your Spark Gift Card through the EFTPOS terminal.
  3. Select Credit as the account type.
  4. Enter the 4-digit PIN. You’ll find this on the back of your card, under the scratch panel.
  5. If the amount on your Gift Card didn't cover the full cost of the purchase, use another payment method to pay the rest.

If you have a Digital Gift Card you received by email:

  1. Either print out the email with your Gift Card on it or have it ready on your phone screen.
  2. Let the Spark advisor in the store know you'd like to pay with a Gift Card.
  3. Present your Gift Card to the Spark advisor.
  4. If the amount on your Gift Card didn't cover the full cost of the purchase, use another payment method to pay the rest.

 

  1. Add what you want to buy to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  2. At the payment screen, select Gift Card as the payment option.
  3. Enter the Gift Card number from the back of the Gift Card. If your Gift Card was emailed to you, the number will be on the email.
  4. Enter the 4-digit PIN. If you have a physical card you'll find this on the back of your card, under the scratch panel.
  5. If the amount on your Gift Card didn't cover the full cost of the purchase, choose a payment method to pay the rest.

 

Check the balance on your Spark Gift Card

You can check how much money is left on your Spark Gift Card, its expiry date your last 10 transactions online.

  1. Go to giftstation.co.nz/spark
  2. Enter the Gift Card number from the back of the card.
  3. Enter the 4-digit PIN. You'll find this on the back of your card, under the scratch panel.
  4. If your Gift Card was emailed to you, you'll find the Gift Card number and PIN on the email.

Return something bought with a Spark Gift Card

All items must meet the Spark returns terms and conditions before a refund will be given. It's important that you read and understand the Spark returns terms and conditions. Read Spark's Returns Policy

  1. If you originally purchased the item at a Spark store, go into your nearest Spark store.
  2. They'll help manage returning the item and any applicable refunds.
  3. The amount you paid for the item using your Gift Card will be refunded to on another Spark Gift Card.

  2. The amount you paid for the item using your Gift Card may be refunded to you as a Digital Gift Card, which you'll receive on an email from GiftStation.

Important things to know about Spark Gift Cards

  • Spark Gift Cards are valid for 24 months from the date of issue. You can check the expiry date online at giftstation.co.nz/spark
  • You can use your Spark Gift Card as many times as you like until the balance is used up. Your Spark Gift Card can’t be reloaded with more funds.
  • You can't use a Gift Card to buy Spark modems. You also can't redeem it for cash, exchange it, apply it to your Spark account or use it to pay your Spark bill or top up your Prepaid balance.
  • Only one gift card can be redeemed per order transaction on the Spark website or in the Spark app. If you're buying something that costs more, you can use another payment method for the remainder.
  • We’re unable to replace, exchange or refund your Spark Gift Card if it's lost or stolen.
