Manage McAfee Security

Note: The following steps are for the device you are sharing the link from.

Tablet or mobile device

  1. From your McAfee app you can scroll to the Protect all your devices card and select Protect a device.
  2. Input an email address for an inbox you can access on the device you wish to protect, then select Send link.
  3. Open the email on the device you wish to protect
  4. Select Download for the correct device type. The options are Windows, Android, iOS and MacOS

PC

  1. From your McAfee app open the Settings menu and select Protect more devices.
  2. From here you can:
    • Input an email address for an inbox you can access on the device you wish to protect, then select Send link.
      1. Open the email on the device you wish to protect
      2. Select Download for the correct device type. The options are Windows, Android, iOS and MacOS
    • Input a phone number for the device you wish to protect, then select Send link.
      1. Open the text and click the link
      2. You'll be taken to the McAfee download page.
      3. Ensure the correct tab for your device is selected. The options are PC, Mobile and Mac.
      4. Select Download
    • Scan the QR code on the device you wish to protect
      1. You'll be taken to the McAfee download page.
      2. Ensure the correct tab for your device is selected. The options are PC, Mobile and Mac.
      3. Select Download

Mac

  1. From your McAfee app select Protect more devices on the Home tab.
  2. From here you can:
    • Input an email address for an inbox you can access on the device you wish to protect, then select Send link.
      1. Open the email on the device you wish to protect
      2. Select Download for the correct device type. The options are Windows, Android, iOS and MacOS
    • Input a phone number for the device you wish to protect, then select Send link.
      1. Open the text and click the link
      2. You'll be taken to the McAfee download page.
      3. Ensure the correct tab for your device is selected. The options are PC, Mobile and Mac.
      4. Select Download

On the device
You'll need to uninstall the app from your device. The process to do this is specific to you device

make and model, so please refer to your device manufacturers instructions on how to uninstall an app or software.

Remotely

  1. Go to the McAfee account page and sign in
  2. Select the device you want to remove the licence from
    1. If the device is a mobile or tablet, select Remove
    2. If the device is a PC or Mac, select Deactivate
  1. Go to the McAfee account page and sign in
  2. Down the bottom of the My Apps tab you'll see the number of licences used. If you have more than one McAfee subscription linked to your McAfee account, ensure McAfee Security is selected in the Select subscription dropdown

When changing between Spark plans, your current eligibility will determine what happens with your subscription.

  • If you're changing to a Spark broadband plan with McAfee Security Standard included, then your subscription will continue, regardless of it is current included or $4.95/month.
  • If you’re changing from a Spark broadband plans with McAfee Security Standard included, to a plan where it costs $4.95/month to subscribe, it’s best to get in touch about making this change as we can ensure your McAfee Security Standard carries across for you if you want to keep it. You can message us or check out the Spark help page for more contact options. 
  • If you change your plan online, your subscription will end immediately, and you’ll need to add the subscription again in MySpark or the Spark app and then activate. To activate you’ll need to uninstall the app from your device(s) then follow the activation process to reinstall. Please note, you'll lose all settings when uninstalling and may need to create an account using a new email address.
  • If you're changing across Spark broadband or mobile plans with McAfee Security Standard for $4.95/month, then your subscription will continue.

If you don't have McAfee Security Standard included in your plan, you can cancel at any time. Your McAfee Security Standard will continue to work until the end of your monthly renewal.

MySpark

  1. Sign in to MySpark
    Note: If you don't have a MySpark account yet, you can follow these steps to create one. Set up and use MySpark
  2. Select Subscriptions under the Products section
  3. Select McAfee Security Standard
  4. Follow the simple steps to cancel McAfee Security Standard.

Spark App

  1. Open the Spark App
  2. Select MySpark from the Menu and sign in if you are asked to
    Note: If you don't have a MySpark account yet, you can follow these steps to create one. Set up and use MySpark
  3. Select Subscriptions
  4. Select McAfee Security Standard
  5. Follow the simple steps to cancel McAfee Security Standard.

If you have McAfee Security Standard included, it can't be cancelled. Check out our broadband plans for other plan options if you no longer need a plan that includes McAfee Security Standard. View Spark broadband plans

To uninstall McAfee Security use the McAfee removal tool to uninstall Spark Security Suite:

  1. Download the tool
  2. Select Run
  3. Follow the on screen instructions
  4. Restart your computer

If you receive a Clean-up Unsuccessful error message, the clean-up did not work.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Restart your PC and run the McAfee Removal tool again
  2. If you see Clean-up Unsuccessful again, ignore it
  3. Restart your PC
  4. Attempt to reinstall your McAfee software

If you are still unable to install:

  1. Click here to contact McAfee Customer Service
  2. Let the agent know:
    • McAfee Removal tool produced a Clean-up Unsuccessful message
    • You are unable to reinstall your McAfee software

 

To uninstall McAfee Security use the McAfee removal tool to uninstall Spark Security Suite:

  1. Download the tool
  2. Select Run
  3. Follow the on screen instructions
  4. Restart your computer

If you receive a Clean-up Unsuccessful error message, the clean-up did not work.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Restart your PC and run the McAfee Removal tool again
  2. If you see Clean-up Unsuccessful again, ignore it
  3. Restart your PC
  4. Attempt to reinstall your McAfee software

If you are still unable to install:

  1. Click here to contact McAfee Customer Service
  2. Let the agent know:
    • McAfee Removal tool produced a Clean-up Unsuccessful message
    • You are unable to reinstall your McAfee software
