A Fair Use Policy applies to our uncapped Wireless Broadband plans, see section 2.6 of our General Terms
This policy allows us to protect our network so all Wireless Broadband customers can have a good experience using our service.
This means you can't use the service in a way that is overly excessive or unreasonable. The policy is based on how most people use the service and helps us make sure everyone using it gets to enjoy it.
Currently the amount of data you can use on your plan in each monthly usage period before it's considered excessive is shown in the following groups. These fair use thresholds are reviewed regularly, to keep them up to date with how most people are using the service. For more information on your plan's specific terms, please find it under our Personal Terms
2TB/month group
1TB/month group
350GB/month group
If you use more data than the Fair Use Policy allows, we'll contact you by email or SMS.
To stay on your current plan, you'll need to reduce the amount of data you use.
Tips for managing your data usage:
If you've used more than your plan's fair use threshold of data (for example, 1TB for Everyday Wireless) for a second monthly usage period, your current plan isn't right for you. We'll send you another email or SMS to let you know. You'll then have 30 days to decide what to do.
Your options are:
If you prefer to stay on this plan, you can. If your usage is still excessive in the next monthly usage period, we'll change your plan so it reduces your speed to 5Mbps when you use over your plan's fair use threshold in each monthly usage period.
At 5Mbps you can still do most things, like browse the internet, check your emails, message people and stream music. However, when you're streaming videos you'll only be able to watch at standard definition and it may affect some online gaming. You can try out this option and see if it works for you. There's no fixed term so you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
